about

The Orient started one night when Conor woke up around 3am and started to make music quietly in headphones on the recently acquired Juno DS. Aidan also had trouble sleeping that night and within a few hours Abraham was born and thus started our collaboration as The Orient.

We were living together as catholic missionaries with NET Ministries in Donegal & had started Exodus 90 which had us fasting from social media and most music & films so we were making about three tracks a day between us for two months.

Some of that music took different forms and identities such as Mediator, Hiro and Nyt Bloomer and so The Orient Nation became the world these personas & sounds began to interact in.

The Orient is an old name for Christ & due to Abraham coming organically we began to weave the concept for Genealogy from the lineage of Jesus in Matthew's Gospel.
